This will hurt people who use GPT-6-Pro which isn't easily available in codex and deep research.
Those were 2 flagship projects that will now make ChatGPT a lot less useful to people who pay.

Are they though? They just rolled out free API credits for Pro users. So $200 of free API credits once a month (expiring in the month) along with the other benefits of the plan. Not something I'd do if I was worried about spend. Of course it's a ploy to get you to lock into their platform longer term but ... it's an LLM API. You can swap them in 10 minutes with an LLM.
