I recently won the red ribbon, second place, at the Lambtown fiber festival, for my lovely skein of undyed handspun yarn. Weaving it is next. However, I am probably an outlier, and should not be counted.

(It was a full 250g of this fantastical kempy Herdwick, absolutely unlike anything you can get commercially, and I'm honestly more proud of it than of anything I built in six years working at NVIDIA.)

Pics or....

No, seriously, I'd love to see it. Do you have a loom? If so did you build it yourself?

I have a basic Ashford rigid heddle loom, and did not build a loom myself. In my copious free time (tm) I think I'd rather like to try to build a punch card controlled Jacquard rigid heddle system for it and similar looms, though.

That's gorgeous.

Looms are tricky (when larger, smaller ones are easy), but doable. A mod is a nice way to focus on the really interesting bits (and a good excuse to buy and restore a cardpunch ;) ).

Life is a series of projects...

Oh, no. This would be a de novo punch design, lifting heddles with a purely mechanical action. We'll see how it goes.
