Previously he used to respond to messages with @dang.
@ doesn't do anything on HN. You have to email if you want more than a chance they will see your comment.
I just sent hn AT ycombinator DOT com an email requesting this. Even if it is just for a few hours before the end of the night, it would be meaningful.
