apt-get update + apt-get upgrade fixes it on Debian, but not on Ubuntu for now
Add Sury's repo and update from there: https://packages.sury.org/php/README.txt
You can on ubuntu change to use ondrej/php and update now
I've been trying to update my (noble 24.04) server and an apt update is not showing the 8.5.12. It looks like the binary has been built but not updated in the index http://ppa.launchpad.net/ondrej/php/ubuntu/dists/noble/Relea... (last update 14 yet. https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/php/+build/338... suggests it finished at ~ 17:00 UTC
Though quite possibly I'm missing something ;)

edit: as I was typing the index was updated. So, as far as I can tell only just now (18:20 UTC) was it available for updating!
