Slack flickers a lot for me, no idea why. I haven't updated macOS yet because I don't love the look of the new liquid glass stuff. I think this makes me 2 majors behind now...
Was it released for the M4? If so, you might have a hardware problem. Bad display cable, faults on the motherboard, that kind of thing?
No, it's specifically just certain app windows. If it was a hardware failure, we would expect the whole physical display to flicker.
A remote possibility: macOS can switch between different graphic modes, depending on the application, utilizing different hardware and power profiles. At least, it does so on my laptop, and old one with two different graphics "cards", but I don't know if that's your case.
