Maintenance is not an issue, if vm/pc setup is done correctly. Simple is better in that case. Just a docker-compose or two or three with app data stored directly on disk to be able to move things easily between VM/PC's if needed. If hosted on VPS, set up your containers to be accesible only through VPN and you're good to go.

Things i use daily-ish:

- Wireguard with wg-easy to access my home network and other way around to keep services i don't want to be seen on my network away from my ISP.

- Calibre-web for my ebooks

- Forgejo/Gitea as local git server + CrowCI for my hobby projects.

- Samba server to access my things over the network.

- Trillium for note taking.

- Nomad for my other more infra related projects
