This is awesome. I would note that there are similar charities (based in various Western countries) that do similar things if people like the idea but for whatever reason don't want to donate to this particular one, just a simple Google search away.

Vetting them is a challenge though. I always prefer some sort of personal contact like it's available here. And for anyone who doesn't trust OP, I invite OP to visit me in Tanzania, then I can verify and vouch for his existence (and he can then verify mine :-)

I didn't realize you were in Tanzania. I'll email you and we'll get in touch. It might be 6 months or more until I'm there again.

Yeah, as I wrote in the other comment, I moved to Africa 4 years ago. My wife in China had passed away, and I felt that I could not sustain living there anymore. I was stuck in my wife's small town doing remote work that didn't pay enough to move to a big city where I would have more opportunities, and also my children, being Chinese citizens were not allowed to go to school just anywhere. It was also during covid so there wasn't even a chance to travel and look for opportunities. By the time covid was over I was ready to leave.

My options then were to go back home, or to try Africa and see if it is possible to live there for a while. I'll be staying here as long as I can financially sustain myself with online work or through sponsors. And even if I can't stay much longer, we have now been here long enough that Africa has made an impact in our lives, and we'll hopefully be able to use that to have a positive impact on others too.

I've emailed you at your email on your account. It would be wonderful to meet one day.
