If it's any consolation, we already have far higher death counts through systemic violence, which is so normalized most people balk at the idea of even referring to it as such.

It should be impossible to die from "poverty" (certainly not in a "rich" country like those in Europe or North America) and yet that is one of the most significant contributors to a staggering number of ongoing deaths. Things get only worse if you consider stress from existential anxieties or conditions that would have been treatable if they had been diagnosed earlier (but that would have cost extra).

Well, I guess that's not much of a consolation after all.
