You can do this really well on $200 AR headsets that fit on your face like sunglasses and uses the battery of the device it's plugged into to last many hours.
If this is the biggest point, then I don't see why Xreal isn't more popular.

XReal is only replacing the screen part and needs another device as a core, this headset works standalone.
As the form factor is already pretty bulky, keeping it as a single device helps a lot IMHO.
Maybe some of the non-xreal brands or some combinations of hardware provide usable experiences, but all my experiences with xreal have been abysmal.
