I mean, I wouldn't hate it if they got into cars

An Apple Miata is the dream. Take the design team from the MX-5 NA days and marry it to Apple's design team. Both are exemplar in engineering and the result has me drooling as I day dream here.

Apple design is the polar opposite of the MX-5. The MX-5 is a masterpiece of mechanical design and function. Apple makes minimalist purely electronic fashion gadgets that are highly form over function and remove user agency.

The Miata is good at one thing which is being fun. It’s not good at being a car. Apple’s devices meet most people’s functional needs very well.

What does it mean to not be good at being a car?

It’s a terrific car if you want a great handling convertible at a low price point. As you said, it’s fun.

It’s not good at moving a lot of people or things, or going really fast, or lasting for 500k miles, or being as cheap as possible. Other cars are good at some of those things, but what is the Miata missing that is otherwise required to be a ‘good’ car?

I imagine it would be held together with glue and tiny screws.

And the charging port will be on the bottom.

And it'd be a nonstandard charger

This has worked fine for Lotus products such as the Elise

Stickshift option instantly gone, with a recall to swap existing manuals to automatic

There's already Ferrari Luce

I'm very glad those Apple Car rumors didn't materialize

Then you'd need special apple fuel, special apple wipers fluid, special apple tyres…
