Probably not. They'll train like hell for a few weeks, their bodies unable to properly recover, they'll feel wrecked the entire time and they will never develop the habit of exercise.
Likely best for most people is to just start moving and once you have _actually_ established the habit of exercise, slowly add intensity. Let your body accommodate.
