I say this recognizing 1) that I am guilty too of what I am about to say, as a Product person, and 2) that I still think it’s insidious…

But there is definitely a slight logical disconnect between the levels of outrage or nefariousness at the actions being discussed here from a segment of the population who dedicates significant resources to building and having in depth product telemetry and metrics in the businesses we work for.
