How nice to see this here. My wife had a book published and was able to reserve a week here to promote it. It was a great experience for her. I got the impression that a week there is more like an art showing. Sure, you'll sell some books, but it is a well-known place and well-known people tend to pop in, so it is as much about relationships and good impressions. Also, he was just a really nice guy who loved talking about books and art.
How wonderful!
Was it a japan specific book? I might've missed it but does Morioka operate the book store daily, or the author, or someone else? So many questions..
Thanks! Yeah, only published in Japanese, on the fashiony side of things, but I would imagine he's open to anything. While either he or another person was there to kind of guide things throughout the day/week, I think it's largely up to the author to go as big or small as they want. My wife was there every day all day so she made the most of it, but i don't think that is always the case.
