How does a >2 year old article get necroed to the top on HN?

Old articles frequently reach the top of HN. There are many great articles that people only discover now rather than when they were originally posted.

I guess it's dating app fatigue makes us promote old articles :)

Fun fact, I learned yesterday that Bumble will delete swipes in their upcoming app reset and go ai assistant way. Not that that I am fan of dating apps, it's one of the worse inventions ever, but seems pretty interesting seeing their stock price plummeted 93% since IPO

Maybe by being something different than the regular slop on the HN front page. And just being a high quality article in general.
