Yep... It gets a little less funny by the year.
I think some of the most prophetic writing in terms of specifics came from Richard Stallman that basically called it all out in the late 1980s, including social media.
You may not always like what he has to say but he did think through how this stuff can be leveraged against the users.
Most interesting part of this for me is the lukewarm response it gets from the initial replies. The sense of humor here was ahead of its time.
