Shout out to my local KUTX (https://kutx.org/)! This is the kind of station that (I think) the author is mourning the loss of. They have human DJs, a great variety of music, and since they're a public station they have relatively few ads.

I don't really know how successful they are but since their inception 13 years ago I've probably listened to them more than all other stations combined. And I donate to them.
