GitHub Pages is free for public repos, which makes perfect sense for a public blog. IndieWeb content is public by design.

Some examples of that exist for sure.

If it's turnkey it can't be "self". Even if you could buy a magic hosting box to put in your home network, you would be dependent on its support.
