Hi HN,

I built a small tool called I Wish There Was to help founders spot real product pain without spending hours reading forums.

Instead of browsing threads manually, the app scans recent public forum discussions indexed by search engines, filters for explicit everyday frustration (time wasted, confusion, friction, costs), and clusters similar signals into clear problem statements.

For each cluster it outputs:

a concise problem title

a short summary

who is affected

why it hurts

verbatim quotes from real users

a simple recurrence level (low / medium / high)

The goal is signal, not validation. It’s meant to help decide what to explore next, not to guarantee demand.

Current limitations (by design):

sources are limited to publicly indexed forums (no Reddit scraping)

results depend on query quality

no analytics or scoring, just synthesized pain signals

Pricing is credit-based (one free scan, then pay per scan). No subscription.

I’d love feedback on:

whether this kind of synthesis is useful

what feels missing vs overkill

how you’d personally use (or not use) something like this

Happy to answer questions.
