I don't follow the logic, Hollywood has taken money directly from Chinese investors. Major infrastructure projects, major companies, auto manufacturers, have all taken money from Chinese investors. This feels more like a hip piece.

This is an ITAR issue, spacecraft and satellites fall under arms control.

Lockheed and other defense contractors are publicly traded, and it isn’t only US citizens that can purchase their shares.

The interface for buying a public stock and the powers that owning public shares gives you are known.

A private investment deal raises valid questions about what company information traded hands and what influence if any that ownership will allow.

ITAR does not bar stockholders or give any ownership limits.

> While there is no prohibition on Chinese ownership in U.S. military contractors, such investment is heavily regulated and the issue is treated by the U.S. government as a significant national security concern.
