There's incessant economic strategy that's heavily optimized but not new product categories or quantum leaps in features or usability. For far too many years, there have been dubious wild UI refreshes and then recently version numbering changes to give the appearance of progress. This is what happens when the CFO is made CEO and there isn't a sufficiently apropos apparent successor. I think sj could've and should've done more to scour the world for a capable, adroit successor who would push design and technology limits without falling into the traps of a current profitable (for now) para-luxury that doesn't contain as much cool and durability as it once did.
