Agreed, but it’s not just government. I just spent 2 days in a Kafka-like hell where a credit card I had for 22 years was closed by Citi. At every stage the many people I spoke with wanted to help but couldn’t, because the software had made the decision and it was final. No human was in the loop. And it wasn’t until many hours of phone calls that we even learned the reason for the closure. This army of humans employed by Citi are just slaves to a computer system.
