This looks like a Mexican standoff…
The White House wants to use tariffs as leverage for concessions against the EU, Big Tech would also like concessions from both EU (less moderation, less antitrust probes, less privacy regulations, etc.) and the White House (less tariffs), while the EU is now more inclined to increase scrutiny of Big Tech as a way to push the White House to relent on tariffs. Popcorns anyone?

For moment I was deeply confused about what possible controversy could involve https://bit-tech.net/ .
If big tech gets it’s way and the Digital Services Act goes away, Europe could answer that with a massive media literacy education drive.
Harrowing to think this is part of a drive to promote far right values through misinformation and where it’s coming from.
